Classic Open Air Palace Charlottenburg
Baroque Spring Magic - Vivaldi and Handel (Saturdays)
With the awakening of spring, the Berlin Residence Orchestra invites you to experience the sensuality of baroque music in the orangery garden of Charlottenburg Palace in the midst of blossoming nature.
Just as spring presents us with its bursting buds and flowers, with its beguiling scents and the birdsong after the silence of winter, the music of the baroque also allows us to immerse ourselves in a sea of sensual impressions. The Berliner Residenz Orchester with its virtuoso and lustful playing lets this abundance of sensuality come to life for you.
In Vivaldi's natural setting "Alla rustica" and in the nightingale songs in "Canta in prato", the fairytale sensuality in the art of the baroque is carried into the present in a playful way and the tones of the music merge with the chants of awakening nature in the orangery garden.
In the historical setting of the orangery garden and to the music of Vivaldi as well as to arias from Handel's "Rinaldo" and "Cleopatra e Cesare", let yourself be seduced by the magic of the spring scents and immerse yourself in the musical diversity of the Baroque like in a sea of flowers.
Musical friendship - W.A. Mozart and J. C. Bach (Sundays)
In the month of spring, the Berlin Residence Orchestra traditionally presents varied Mozart programs.
This season you can look forward to a concert experience revolving around the musical friendship between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Christian Bach.
At the age of 8, the child prodigy W.A. Mozart in London get know Johann Christian Bach and his impressive compositions. At the request of his father, Mozart began to study the precise and at the same time extremely gallant style of the youngest Bach son - he was thus heavily inspired by the "London Bach" in his own compositions and had a real respect for him.
While J.C. Bach is regarded as the "inventor" of the Viennese Classic, W.A. Mozart continued this and made it immortal up to our time.
In the orangery garden with its spring-like atmosphere, the Berlin Residence Orchestra will play Mozart's Symphony No. 1 in E flat major and J.C. Bach's London Symphony No. 2. Let yourself be enchanted and immerse yourself in the world of classical music with all your senses.
++ If it rains, the respective concert takes place in the east wing of the Great Orangery Charlottenburg Palace. ++
