Divertimento - musical pleasure at the court

Welcome to a concert, that brings the sensuous lushness of summer to life with ravishing compositions & in a cheerful way in the gleaming ambience of the Great Orangery.

The divertimento - Italian: pleasure - with its entertaining & dance-like character was popular and widespread at European courts until the end of the 18th century.
The Berlin Residence Ensemble, conducted by Alexandra Rossmann, plays wonderful representatives of this musical genre for you - including Divertimento in D major No. 3 by Leopold Mozart & Joseph Haydn's Divertimento in E flat major Hob. II:6 with its lyrically expressive violin singing in the central Adagio, which is framed by two melodically catchy, lively movements as outer brackets & by two minutes as an inner bracket.
Antonio Salieri's Sinfonia in D major "La Veneziana" rounds off the summery musical experience with a romantic flair.

Feel yourself the concert long, transported with all your senses from the fragile present to summery light-heartedness and enjoy the evening!
